Ebensee, Austria – September 6, 2026
A whole season came down to one weekend on Lake Traunsee, a stretch of deep blue-green water surrounded by dramatic Alpine peaks. Two days of competition at Rindbach beach in Ebensee decided the winners of the SFT Pump Foil World Cup Traunsee 2026 – and crowned the 2026 SFT Pump Foil World Champions.
It was close all year in both fields, and it stayed close to the last heat.
One lake, two titles!
Time trials on Saturday, then the eliminations, then Sunday’s finals on glassy water with the Alps standing around the course like stadium walls. Riders came from Switzerland, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czechia and Austria. The home crew – Viola Lippitsch, Jurij Scheibler, Josef Altmann and Lena Oberperfler – raced meters from their own beach, in front of their own people.
The World Cup ran inside Lakeventure Traunsee, with the Austrian Wingfoil Championships alongside it: demos, food, music, families in the water all weekend. A full lake festival with a World Cup in the middle of it.
No sail. No wing. No motor.
Pump foiling in one sentence: the rider stands on a board above an underwater wing and keeps it flying using nothing but their own body.
From the beach it looks easy. It is not. Riders pump their legs lap after lap, hold balance to the centimeter, and pick racing lines around a tight buoy course. The final results confirmed it. Pure power, technique and precision are what bring the winning results.
