SFT Pump Foil World Cup Sicily 2025 – Swiss Riders Dominate in a Test of Endurance

The Water Festival in Sicily delivered another standout moment for the Surf Foil World Tour, as the SFT Pump Foil World Cup took center stage in front of a packed and energized beach crowd. With spectators cheering from the shoreline, the event combined pure athleticism, mental focus, and technical mastery across multiple rounds of time trial racing.

Unlike traditional head-to-head formats, the pump foil competition challenged riders to post their fastest times across five individual course attempts. Riders had unlimited starting attempts for each run, but once they completed two full laps on the same course with official times recorded, only the faster of the two was counted. With one discard allowed, only their top four times contributed to the final score, making strategy and consistency just as critical as speed.

Switzerland stole the spotlight in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Edan Fiander, known for his consistent pace and endurance, outperformed Spain’s Manel Arpa to secure the men’s top podium spot. In the women’s field, Sarah Spalinger displayed impressive stamina and clean technique across all heats, edging out fellow Swiss rider Katrin Kolo for the win.

Though men and women raced on the same course under the same conditions, rankings and podiums were separated by gender for both event honors and World Tour points.
