SFT to Crown World Champions in E-Foil and Wake Foil at Fahid Island Watersports Festival, Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, UAE – The SFT Surf Foil World Tour will stage its SFT Wake Foil and E-Foil World Cups for the first time in the Middle East at the Fahid Island Watersports Festival, presented by Aldar. The nine-day event runs 25 October – 02 November 2025, alongside the GKA Kite World Tour and the GWA Wingfoil World Tour.
SFT E-Foil World Cup | October 25–26: The final stop of the 2025 SFT E-Foil season will decide the world title. E-Foil racing demands speed, technique, and finesse, with tight courses testing the best. Justin Chait (USA) leads, with Jacob Ranney (USA), Corey Merlot (USA), Christophe Ballois (FRA), and Ben Miller (USA) all still in contention. €10,000 prize money will be awarded.
SFT Wake Foil World Cup | November 1–2: The SFT Wake Foil World Cup is a single decisive event to crown the first Wake Foil World Champion. Athletes will perform behind the boat, judged on technique, style, and power. The winner shares €10,000 and the inaugural world title.
Fahid Island Watersports Festival: The festival will feature nine straight days of competition, with a €110,000 prize pool shared across SFT, GKA, and GWA events. All competitions will be livestreamed worldwide, bringing the action in Abu Dhabi to a global audience. Open to the public, the festival will feature an engaging public programme designed to appeal to local communities and international visitors alike, including watersports clinics led by world‑class athletes, a lively Athletes’ Village that fosters interaction and inspiration, a curated mix of local food and beverage vendors and retailers, and a full calendar of live performances from 1pm–6pm weekdays and 12pm–6pm weekends.
