Lake Garda was alive with action and energy this past weekend as the Surf Foil World Tour’s Pump Foil World Cup took center stage inside the iconic Foiling Week venue in Malcesine, Italy. Known primarily as a sailing-focused event, Foiling Week has embraced the growing world of board sport foiling — including pump foiling, eFoil racing, and SUP downwind foiling — recognizing their role as dynamic, accessible entry points into the wider foiling ecosystem.

Over two days of competition, riders tackled four uniquely designed buoy courses in a fast-paced, time-trial format. Each competitor had two chances per course, with their best time counting — and one dropped score allowed for strategic recovery. The race setup provided not just a fair challenge, but also thrilling, spectator-friendly viewing inside the waterfront “stadium” environment created by the Foiling Week venue.

Switzerland’s Edan Fiander rose to the top with consistent, explosive performances, taking the overall win. Jurij Scheibler of Austria and Robert Von Roll of Switzerland completed the podium.

A highlight of the event was the remarkable performance of 11-year-old Liam Calo from Italy. Racing against experienced adults, Liam stood his ground with impressive speed and endurance, finishing 11th overall and showing the sport's exciting youth potential.
