SFT Downwind Parawing World Cup Cabarete 2026

The Surf Foil World Tour heads to the Caribbean for the first time with the inaugural SFT Downwind Parawing World Cup Cabarete, taking place June 17–21, 2026 in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. Held in partnership with the Cabarete Wing Fest and presented by Vela Cabarete, this milestone event marks SFT’s debut in the Caribbean and brings elite foiling competition to one of the world’s most established wind and watersports destinations.

Introducing SFT Downwind Parawing to Cabarete is a natural step in building the discipline on a global scale. With its deep-rooted watersports culture and proven event platform, Cabarete Wing Fest provides the ideal stage to grow participation, showcase performance, and connect the international foiling community. As SFT expands into new regions, Cabarete stands out as a destination where competition and lifestyle come together, making it the perfect home for the next chapter of foiling.

Cabarete has built its reputation on consistency—reliable trade winds, warm waters, and a dynamic mix of flatwater and ocean conditions. In June, riders can expect 15–25 knot winds, air temperatures around 28–32°C (82–90°F), and water temperatures of 26–28°C (79–82°F). These conditions create the perfect playground for Downwind Parawing, offering both technical sections and open-ocean glide, all set against Cabarete’s iconic coastline.

More than a competition, Cabarete Wing Fest delivers a full festival experience that blends sport, community, and lifestyle. Riders and guests will take part in a week of curated experiences including a kickoff registration party, pro athlete clinics, and ocean talks featuring stories from leading watermen and women. On the water, participants can test the latest gear, join supported 12km open-ocean downwinders, and take part in foil races and expression sessions. Off the water, the energy continues with beachside dinners, daily social gatherings, and a VIP celebration bringing together athletes, brands, and the global foiling community, all captured through professional media coverage.
